Who I am.

Matteo Agreiter is a photographer and filmmaker, based in the Dolomites, Italy. He is a visual storyteller, creating images that convey ideas in an authentic, genuine, and profound way. Through his photographs and films, he wants you to understand – to understand the story behind a particular moment. He strives to convey emotions and inspire your desire to discover – to discover places and cultures. And he wants you to feel it – to feel like you are there!

Born and raised in the mountains, Matteo not only loves nature, he really cares about her. He grew up spending summers at a high-altitude mountain hut, at the Rifugio Franz Kostner al Vallon, in the heart of the Dolomites. Winters down in the Alta Badia valley below, where they have a small house situated in front of the slopes in Corvara. Not surprisingly, he is an avid backcountry skier, mountaineer, and rock climber, which enables him to create fantastic imagery from an elevated and unique perspective.

While Matteo is at an early stage in his career – he was born in 2000 – don’t let that fool you! He has already planted deep roots regarding what he wants to accomplish with his images. And with youth on his side, and a strong mountaineering background, he is able to reach places where many others can’t, or won’t. Through his photos and films he wants to make people aware of the incredible beauty that surrounds us, and to help them understand the power and the majesty of our land.

Matteo likes to keep the artwork “easy and essential,” but do not misunderstand him, because he is also open to crazy ideas and projects! He likes to work in the mountains, and he likes outdoor adventures. So, if there’s something you’d like to do, he probably won’t say no to you!
